Ben Stein relates a New Yorker article about Pham Xuan An.

It seems this An fellow was a Vietnam era communist spy/correspondent who is much loved by today's media elite:
In fact, the whole article is about how cute and smart and clever and brave a guy An is. A lovable, brilliant, brave man who sent Americans and innocent civilians to their deaths. Bass even explains that almost all of An's former colleagues in the Western press still love the guy after learning he was a spy for America's enemy in the Vietnam War. They even gave money to bring him here for an auld lang syne visit not long ago.
Once again I ask: And Democrats/leftists wonder why people question their patriotism?

I must make a link to this:
SCENE AND HEARD: According to sources, one of the possible candidates to replace the non-German-speaking U.S. ambassador to Germany, Dan Coats, is another supposedly non-German speaker by the name of W.R. "Tim" Timken Jr. of Ohio. Timken is chairman of the board of the Timken Company, maker of (according to its website) "bearings, alloy steels, and related products and services." He is also a member of the U.S.-Japan Business Council and a Chevalier in the French Legion of Honor. So wouldn't he be the ideal candidate for ambassador to France or Japan? (Incidentally, Timken is also a director of Diebold, Inc.

"A pacifist hears the terrible news that America did not kill 100,000 Iraqi civilians"

That editorial cartoon could also say, "A leftist...." or "A Democrat....".

Actually this is how many people view Democrats today. We get the sense that Democrats are hoping for another 9/11, economic ruin, national disgrace and humiliation, and for our enemies (France, North Korea, Iran, etc.) to succeed in blunting America's quest of spreading freedom and democracy around the world all because they hate George Bush and the Republicans more than our enemies.

And then they wonder why anyone would question their patriotism. Go figure.

Hillary Clinton:
"There has never been an administration, I don't believe in our history, more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," Mrs. Clinton told the audience at a "Women for Hillary" gathering in Midtown Manhattan this morning.

"I know it's frustrating for many of you; it's frustrating for me: Why can't the Democrats do more to stop them?" she continued to growing applause and cheers. "I can tell you this: It's very hard to stop people who have no shame about what they're doing. It is very hard to tell people that they are making decisions that will undermine our checks and balances and constitutional system of government who don't care. It is very hard to stop people who have never been acquainted with the truth."
I tell you what you do Hillary. You know how you stop George W. Bush from furthering his agenda? You and the Democrats go out and win some elections. That's how.

We don't agree with you Hillary, especially that wing of your party that hates America (Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore, Moveon.org, etc). If you want more say then you have to persuade more Americans to agree with you. Right now you leftists aren't persuading anyone.

Stop whining.
